How a 17-Year-Old Founder Broke Into Australia’s Startup Scene
When we met Liam, the 17 year old co-founder of QuickFind, he was new to the Australian ecosystem — Irish, visiting family, trying to fundraise locally.
We were the first people he reached out to. He didn't ask us for a cheque, just asked if we could connect him to investors. We introduced him to Niki Scevak at Blackbird, and a few top angel investors in Australia.
One of those angels invested, which kicked off a fundraising sprint. He met every major
VC, had offers from multiple, and closed with Square Peg.
Fortunately, he offered us space to invest, which we gladly joined. All we did was crack the first door open. He did the rest, and that's the point. We back people who are ready to run their journey, and we just remove the friction where we can, when needed.
